Ho Municipal Assembly Emphasizes Importance of Household Toilets on World Toilet Day

In commemoration of World Toilet Day, Lawrence Senyo, Municipal and Environmental Health Officer (MEHO) for the Ho Municipal Assembly, stressed the crucial need for household toilets during an interview on GBC Volta Star Radio.

This year’s theme, “Toilet Is A Place For Peace,” highlights the significance of having a toilet facility in every household to ensure a disease-free and peaceful environment.

Senyo emphasized that achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030 requires universal access to sanitation, specifically targeting household toilets.

He warned of the risks associated with open defecation, citing recent cholera outbreaks in some parts of Ghana. Lawrence Senyo underscored the importance of prioritizing household toilets over public facilities.
